Banana Simple Syrup

I always have this banana simple syrup in the refrigerator. It's delicious in cocktails. Try it with this luscious banana mudslide cocktail recipe!


Prep Time: 20 minutes Yield: 2 cups


INGREDIENTS:


  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • a pinch of salt

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • dash of cinnamon

  • 3 ripe bananas, each cut into small pieces


DIRECTIONS:


  1. In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, add sugar, water, salt, and vanilla. Whisk and bring to low boil. Simmer for 10 minutes.

  2. Add chopped bananas, and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.

  3. Strain bananas. Once cooled, pour into glass storage container.

Syrup stays fresh in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.
