Simple Pizza Sauce

A few simple ingredients, and no cooking required! Just a quick spin with an immersion hand blender, and an overnight in the fridge to meld flavors. I encourage you to use San Marzano canned tomatoes. Their superior flavor matters.


Prep Time: 5 minutes Yield: 4 cups


INGREDIENTS:


1 28 ounce can San Marzano whole peeled tomatoes

2-3 garlic cloves, peeled and cut in quarters (immersion blender will do the rest of the work!)

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (to taste)

2 tsp fresh oregano (1 tsp dried)

2 tsp fresh basil (1 tsp dried basil)

1 tsp salt

2 tsp sugar


Place all ingredients in a large bowl. Use hand immersion blender (or food processor) to blend all ingredients thoroughly. Refrigerate several hours or overnight before use.
