Thai Basil Vodka Gimlet Shooters

Elevate your celebratory libation game with these fine cocktails. Heavily spirited, sophisticated, aromatic, beautiful to look at....a favorite for holiday, or any day, celebrations!

My thai basil simple syrup has notes of pepper, savory, and a teeny bit of anise flavor. It's leaves are sturdy and make a great fresh herb addition to dishes. I am linking the thai basil simple syrup to the recipe below.

I also use my homemade lime cordial! Recipe link below. For time sake, you can use a ready made store one, but definitely try the recipe when you have a few extra minutes. You'll never use the store bought stuff again!

Enjoy and careful....stout like most all of my libations! Aren't they festive and pretty!

Prep Time: 5 minutes (less the Thai basil lime simple syrup prep). Yield: 5 one ounce shots (or sips)

INGREDIENTS:

3 ounces high quality vodka

10 small basil leaves for garnish

turbinado sugar and lime for rim

(Note that turbinado sugar crystals go by one brand name "Sugar in the Raw". It is raw 100% sugarcane, with larger amber crystals. If you do not wish to use it, you can use granulated white sugar.)

In an iced cocktail shaker, add vodka, lime cordial, simple syrup. Shake for 20-30 seconds, then strain into five 1 ounce shot glasses that have been rimmed with lime and sugar.
