The Grand Margarita

We called this margarita GRAND, because of the top shelf ingredients, which make all the difference. It's powerful and plentiful, so you can call it a "grande" too...Black lava sea salt's earthy taste pairs well with this stout concoction!

Prep Time: 10 minutes Yield: One cocktail

INGREDIENTS:

2 ounces premium tequila

1 ounce Grand Marnier or Gran Gala liqueur

1/2 ounce Cointreau or triple sec *

2 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice

1 ounce simple syrup

Black lava sea salt and lime wedge to garnish glass rim.

Rub rim of margarita glass with lime, then coat lightly with salt.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, Grand Marnier, Cointreau, lime juice and simple syrup. Shake for 30 seconds and pour into ice-filled salt rimmed glass. Enjoy...slowly!

You can find the black sea salt here from Amazon.com.

Note: the Cointreau/Triple Sec can be replaced with other liqueurs of choice, for a traditional margarita with delicious heat, use Ancho Reyes Chili Liqueur instead of the Cointreau. Rim the glass with Tajin seasoning for additional spice.
